I did a Holiday Bazaar last Saturday at my church. It was great! My knot dresses were a HUGE hit!!!!! I brought 5 and sold 3, plus 2 custom orders. Everyone loved them, I was really happy. I made a lot of applique tees and onesies, and still have a lot of them left...also lots of purses, sold some and people loved them, but would love to sell before the holidays. I need to list on my etsy shop.....and I will post photos of them here soon.
Lots of flower hair clips, in sets of 2 for $6 or one for $3.50. Sold a lot of these. Great stocking stuffers.
Fabric notecards for $2 and baby gift sets. It was a great bazaar, and I'll be doing it every year. Was a lot of fun since I work at the church part time now. Knew a lot of people.
Ice cream cozy for a friend who's under the weather or has just had surgery. How thoughtful!!! It's on make it and love it. Also has a tote and drink cozy in the tutorial. It's the sweetest gift (and a little fun).
These look yummy! Pumpkin chocolate clip cookies on MADE. Need to make....
Finally a boy project I will be making. Hopefully my son will wear this cool scarf, but really not too sure. I love it. It's from a GREAT blog, Living with Punks, and there's a tutorial here for the Lil Dude Flannel Scarf with Treasure Pocket.
Here's the treasure pocket. So fun!
Here's another amazing project from Living with Punks. Tell me you're loving this button ruffle scarf like I am? When I am finally done with my craft bazaar on Saturday I am making this for my daughter. It's made out of jersey, and can use a tee shirt so I love that!!!! It's here.
One of my favorite blogs these days is twelve crafts till christmas. It's really great. She's having guest bloggers post about Christmas traditions. This spider is from a woman that did 24 Christmas crafts to go with books she gave to her kids. I love this idea and she picked her favorite 12. I don't have any Christmas books, just get ones out from the library, cause I hate to store them. But I need to get some good books and this beaded spider is just too cute! I saw this beautiful coaster set on Noodlehead. It's from a book that I'm tempted to buy. (anyone have it I can borrow?) Wouldn't this be a GREAT gift for a girlfriend?
The blog, Just Another Day in Paradise, is posting recipes for Thanksgiving and has started with salads. I can NEVER make a nice salad but this Apple Spinach Salad with Sugared Pecans is one I will be trying for sure. YUM!!!!!
I finally finished this coat and I love it. I was doing the Sew-A-Long on From An Igloo back in SEPTEMBER!!! But hey, a month and a half later, it's done and it's cute! The pattern is Dear My Kids Peter Pan Collar Double Breasted Coat and DMK's etsy shop is found here. I bought a bunch of patterns and can't wait to try the rest out. I will say, for my first coat, it turned out GREAT. But sizing is off. My daughter is 3 and very petite. She's currently wearing a bunch of 18 month GAP pea coats so I made her a 3T in this pattern and it's VERY narrow on her back and very long. Next time I'm going to do a 4T and do the length of 2 or 3T. So that was my only complaint. I also took the time and interfaced the outer fabric so it hangs nicely.
Here's the back. Very darling. I got the fabric at Durango Sewing Company and fell in love with the colors. We went in to show the shop owner the finished coat and all these women just couldn't stop saying nice things about it. One was really funny and said she never would have thought to use such a grown up fabric for a little girl and that she loved it! So that was nice. That store has gorgeous fabric, I love every single one. Wish I were rich!!!!!
I made the flower headband a while ago and love that it's comfortable for her and stays in.
I changed the pattern by only doing one buttonhole and just doing a pretend one for the other one.
We had a fun photo shoot.
I'm having so much fun editing photos these days. Loving it. Finally got my free actions to load in Elements so it's SO FAST now to change effects.
I made these shirts for my friend Chelsea of True Religion Photography. I dyed them a light gray with Rit Dye and used her cool camera fabric for appliques. She's so amazing at photography! The photos turned out so cute. Her kids are so beautiful, aren't they?
So the Halloween weekend was awesome, but so busy! Four parties to go to, two were kid birthday parties. It was fun. Here's my boy in some glasses at our church's Fall Festival on Halloween.
A fireman in a fire truck. He wore the costume everyday for a week before Halloween, which he has NEVER done before. I want to find a doctor costume for him, the only other one he wants.
Hanging with our good friend. Kids loved trick or treating.
My girlfriend Ocea and her baby the banana. SO funny!!!
My little witch. But she made sure to tell me she was a good witch. She was so cute. I scored her dress for $2 at one thrift store, and the hat (with matching purple and black feathers) at a different thrift store for $1. It was the perfect outfit!!!! The feathers MADE the outfit for sure.
Potato sack racing happiness.
I liked it in black and white too.
She got a ride in the stroller with two friends. Much better!
Isn't this chicken adorable?
Couldn't get a good picture of the two of them for anything. Gave up!
I was a flapper. Loved my costume. $2 at the thrift store and it was comfy and easy. My husband was the cutest football player. All the dads in our group made a haunted garage and the kids adored it. HUGE HIT of the neighborhood. Very impressed!
The neighborhood friends. Kids were in and out of the photos, couldn't get them to stand still....
