Wrapping Paper Upcycled Pendant Necklaces

I found these at So You Think You're Crafty today. They are pendants made from wrapping paper tubes and wrapping paper. GENIUS! Very easy to make. Meg from Mega Crafty did a guest post on how to make them and you can find the tutorial here.

Merry Christmas!

Last minute neighbor/friend Christmas gifts

Jen at Tatertots and Jello came up with a wonderful list of 23 last minute gifts for Christmas. My favorites are the reindeer noses, snowmen chocolate bars, and candy cane soap.

Hope you're ready for Christmas!!! I'm still working away. I'll show you what I've been up to shortly.

Melted Crayon Art

I've seen this art design a lot of places recently. This one is found here and she describes how to do it, but basically you glue crayons onto a canvas, use a hair dyer or hot air gun, and melt the crayons. I think it's pretty cool!

My son got this Rudolph nose at kindergarten. It's so great! My son pulled my daughter around on his sleigh (AKA firetruck) since he was Rudolph.

Hope you're enjoying some Christmas fun!!!

15 FREE Holiday Printables

Head over to I heart Nap Time to get 15 amazing free holiday printables that Jamielyn rounded up. They are so PRETTY!!!!! Here are two from the bunch.

Blue Guitar Treasury

There's a fun treasury here on etsy featuring my bandana skirt set. It's all fun blue guitar items!!!! Rock on!

Charlotte Dress by Mama Stellato

I made this dress for my daughter this month and I have to say I love it. Love the material and the pattern was wonderful! It's by Mama Stellato and called the Charlotte Dress. You can find it here in her etsy shop.

It was DEFINITELY one of those days with my model. A very silly day and these are the best photos I could get. The rest were depressed and fake smiles. At least in these she is happy.

She likes it since I put some pink in it, but I'm sure she's thinking there is too much blue. Oh well.

The back ties in a big bow. It's really a great dress for fall or winter and this is actually the second one I made. I haven't gotten photos of the first one yet. But a pretty simple pattern and written really well.

Christmas Tree Lights Photo

I took this photo tonight after being inspired by Lil Blue Boo's post on taking photos of Christmas lights. Lisa's photo on there is gorgeous, and I was happy to get a good one of my son with our beautiful tree!

Here's one my husband took of the kids and me. LOVE....... Our house is now decorated and I'm loving every moment.

Bow Garland

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful in your life? I'm in love with this bow garland from Smile and wave. She made it from vintage sheets and I just happen to have a bunch from thrift stores that I could use. ADORABLE!!!!! Or even Christmas colors/fabric for the holidays!!!!!!

Wineglasses with Chalkboard Paint

I think this is a cute idea!!!! Great gift for a hostess. Using chalkboard paint on wineglasses instead of wine charms. You can find it at Just Short of Crazy.

Christmas Rosette Tree

Isn't this cute? I found it here. It's made from rolling up red crepe paper streamers so it's cheap and easy to get materials. I think it's adorable. I think we'll decorate for Christmas this week since my in-laws are in town. We're finally home from a week in Las Vegas!!!!! We got to see lots of great shows and had a blast. I'll be rounding up lots of great gift ideas shortly and showing the new dress I made for my daughter.

Natural Las Vegas

We're in Vegas for the week and loving it! Here are some photos from our amazing hike today at Red Rock Canyon. It's about 15-20 min from where we're staying and I never knew this was here. It was a great break from the strip and the kids had a blast.

Visitor's center was wonderful.

Another hike from a nearby park. Look at all those houses!!!!

My daughter's new sweater from GAP. Rainbows are her favorite.

Prickly Pear Cactus.

So many great caves for the kids to sit in.

My son found a walking stick.

Beautiful weather. We love visiting family in Vegas for Thanksgiving each year. Love escaping Colorado's cold for Vegas!

Love the pink cowboy boots she hiked in.

Riding her horse stick on the way out. A great end to a wonderful morning with my family! I am blessed.

Designer Pink Knot Dress

Here's the other knot dress I made for my daughter. This is her favorite since it's pink.
I used Prairie Gothic by Jane Sassaman fabric for the skirt. It's so fun with spiders and moths!

I made the headband a while ago.

A fabric label I made.

Designer Navy Knot Dress

Well I FINALLY made my daughter two dresses this week. I never seem to get any made for her so I had so much fun making her 2 knot dresses with some beautiful fabric I bought in town.

The skirt fabric is Alexander Henry's "granville".

I love these eyes.

I lined the bodice and straps in navy. Will be so cute for fall/winter and then with short sleeves or tank top this summer. She'll probably be able to wear this for 3 years at her current growing rate! Makes sewing for her so nice......

The back has my ellzabelle label I made.

The best part is that she loves everything I make for her. But she likes the other one better, which I knew she would, since it's pink. Pink always wins!

Custom Knot Dress

I made this little 12month knot dress for my friend this week. I love knot dresses. My 4 year old daughter is still wearing her 2T ones, now as tunics with pants. ADORABLE!!!!! Making her two dresses this week, one is done, will post photos soon. I have knot dresses available in my etsy shop.

Animal Birthday Party

When I asked my daughter what kind of party she wanted when she turned 4 and she said "ANIMAL PARTY"! It was a great theme and so easy. I NEEDED easy since we were moving the next week so I kept it very simple with not too much stress (and kept it VERY affordable). Started with animal balloons from City Market. I think $1.29 each. Perfect decorations and each kid took a balloon home.
I made these cute monkey cups from Martha Stewart. Had all the supplies already so were cheap and easy! I wrote each kid's initial on an ear.

My daughter loved helping with the cupcakes! I made the apron.

Also made the crown for her 2nd bday party. It's mirrored from this tutorial but I used fabric with the felt instead of all felt. Decorated the house for FREE with animal books, stuffed animals and animal toys. SO EASY and cheap and didn't have to buy anything. Really added color to the rooms and the kids loved it.

Reused a birthday banner from past years.

The kids had so much fun!

Printed jungle bingo cards from Birthday in a Box. This site has so many great FREE ideas and printables.

Used pennies as markers (in a duck bath toy). The kids really enjoyed playing. If I wanted to put more time into crafts I would have made some animal ear headbands for the kids to play with and each take one home. TOO CUTE!

My daughter wore a leopard dress with tule underneath and some brown flower hair clips I made.

I got animal plates at Target and also have used the Zoo Pals animal plates they have at all the grocery stores. I served Papa Murphy's pizza, animal crackers, and bunny cheese crackers.

I printed animal masks onto white cardstock, cut out, attached string, and the kids decorated. Found at Birthday in a Box.

The girls loved coloring the masks.

I bought animal suncatchers (plus one train for my son) at Hobby Lobby for each child. Walmart also has. I think 50 cents each. Used glitter paint stain and gave each kid a hanging suction cup to take home with their suncatcher. This was the BIGGEST hit at the party and the kids did a great job.

Lots of fun times!

Then it was time for the kids to find the animals that escaped from the zoo. I just used plastic animals from the house and my husband and son hid them in the yard. We made a few binoculars out of toilet paper tubs glued together and spray painted gray to use as well. Kids really loved this exploring and being outside. Should have had more animals, but again, didn't want to buy more toys since we were moving.

My daughter with her rescued animals.

Found one!

The outside gang. Some kids stayed inside doing crafting projects.

Cupckes had pink icing (of course) with the white and pink animal cookies that I bought at Walmart. SO easy and turned out great. Borrowed my friend's cupcake tower which was wonderful. So fun to have a nice friend who is a professional cake decorator!!!!! Here is an adorable barn cake that would also be great.

Blowing out candles with the help of her brother.

Lots of wonderful presents perfect for my 4 year old.

I printed these animal tags from Printables 4 Kids on cardstock and colored them with colored pencils.

Punched hole in tags and attached to animal cracker favors with ribbon. On back of tag I thanked kids for coming to the party. Simple! We also had my son in his doctor costume that I made as the Vet. Kids were asked to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the party. The animals got a checkup then headed to the beauty salon to get cleaned and pretty. The girls thought this was very fun!!!!! There are a TON of ideas out there and we could have done so much more. A really fun, easy, affordable theme party!
