Animal Birthday Party

When I asked my daughter what kind of party she wanted when she turned 4 and she said "ANIMAL PARTY"! It was a great theme and so easy. I NEEDED easy since we were moving the next week so I kept it very simple with not too much stress (and kept it VERY affordable). Started with animal balloons from City Market. I think $1.29 each. Perfect decorations and each kid took a balloon home.
I made these cute monkey cups from Martha Stewart. Had all the supplies already so were cheap and easy! I wrote each kid's initial on an ear.

My daughter loved helping with the cupcakes! I made the apron.

Also made the crown for her 2nd bday party. It's mirrored from this tutorial but I used fabric with the felt instead of all felt. Decorated the house for FREE with animal books, stuffed animals and animal toys. SO EASY and cheap and didn't have to buy anything. Really added color to the rooms and the kids loved it.

Reused a birthday banner from past years.

The kids had so much fun!

Printed jungle bingo cards from Birthday in a Box. This site has so many great FREE ideas and printables.

Used pennies as markers (in a duck bath toy). The kids really enjoyed playing. If I wanted to put more time into crafts I would have made some animal ear headbands for the kids to play with and each take one home. TOO CUTE!

My daughter wore a leopard dress with tule underneath and some brown flower hair clips I made.

I got animal plates at Target and also have used the Zoo Pals animal plates they have at all the grocery stores. I served Papa Murphy's pizza, animal crackers, and bunny cheese crackers.

I printed animal masks onto white cardstock, cut out, attached string, and the kids decorated. Found at Birthday in a Box.

The girls loved coloring the masks.

I bought animal suncatchers (plus one train for my son) at Hobby Lobby for each child. Walmart also has. I think 50 cents each. Used glitter paint stain and gave each kid a hanging suction cup to take home with their suncatcher. This was the BIGGEST hit at the party and the kids did a great job.

Lots of fun times!

Then it was time for the kids to find the animals that escaped from the zoo. I just used plastic animals from the house and my husband and son hid them in the yard. We made a few binoculars out of toilet paper tubs glued together and spray painted gray to use as well. Kids really loved this exploring and being outside. Should have had more animals, but again, didn't want to buy more toys since we were moving.

My daughter with her rescued animals.

Found one!

The outside gang. Some kids stayed inside doing crafting projects.

Cupckes had pink icing (of course) with the white and pink animal cookies that I bought at Walmart. SO easy and turned out great. Borrowed my friend's cupcake tower which was wonderful. So fun to have a nice friend who is a professional cake decorator!!!!! Here is an adorable barn cake that would also be great.

Blowing out candles with the help of her brother.

Lots of wonderful presents perfect for my 4 year old.

I printed these animal tags from Printables 4 Kids on cardstock and colored them with colored pencils.

Punched hole in tags and attached to animal cracker favors with ribbon. On back of tag I thanked kids for coming to the party. Simple! We also had my son in his doctor costume that I made as the Vet. Kids were asked to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the party. The animals got a checkup then headed to the beauty salon to get cleaned and pretty. The girls thought this was very fun!!!!! There are a TON of ideas out there and we could have done so much more. A really fun, easy, affordable theme party!
