The Cottage Mama Georgia Vintage Dress

I have been sewing away the last few weeks.  In addition to organizing PTA Field Day for my son's school, hosting my mom and brother from out of state, and of course fixing up our new house!  Anyway, I had the PLEASURE of being selected to test a dress pattern from The Cottage Home (an amazing blog).  It was so much fun!  This gorgeous dress was made from Lindsay's Georgia Vintage Dress Pattern.
My daughter was a great model this afternoon and we took photos at the Colorado National Monument, just minutes from my home.  GREAT BACKDROP!
This photo is my favorite (with her pink cowgirl boots that we love) and it was chosen to be included in the pattern!  You can see the post with my daughter's photos here on The Cottage Home.
This pattern is really wonderful and easy to follow.  The main dress can be made with flutter sleeves but it's not as much my style.  I was very happy when I was asked to do View C, the sleeveless version.  I LOVE THIS!
It was so fun to mix and match fabrics from my stash so I didn't have to buy a thing to make the dress!  YEAH!  I think the fabrics are Amy Butler's Love and Anna Marie Horner's.

It was my first time to use piping and I made my own with pale blue fabric and some cord I had on hand.  It was easy and I love the look it gave.  I also really like the collar. I'm going to make another one, but try an apron instead of the overskirt for something different.
I made the headband from fabric scraps, hot glue gun, pipe cleaner, a headband I already had, and a flower earring I got at the thrift store.  Quick and easy!
The back features buttons, I did 3 but it should have been 5, just wasn't paying attention but 3 seem fine.
If you need a cute summer dress, head on over to get your copy.  The BEST part???  The pattern goes from 6 months to 10 years!  I love that, especially now that my daughter is 5.  I have years left!!!!! YEAH!  I haven't found many patterns to have that huge range so it is definitely a great purchase.

I just finished my second dress that I pattern tested for Lindsay so as soon as the pattern is released I will share photos.  All I can say is I used more chevron!!!!!!
