Daddy's Girl Dress Pattern by Little Lizard King

I had the privilege to test a beautiful new pattern from Little Lizard King.  Cassie came up with such a cute idea to upcycle a man's dress shirt into the sweetest girl dress.  The pattern is called Daddy's Girl Dress and it's wonderful.

Here's the dress shirt I used.  It's my dad's XL tall shirt.  My husband wears a uniform to work so no dress shirts in this house (that I can cut up!).
Since my daughter just loves animals, I added a little elephant applique to the front in a fabric from my stash, and also used the same fabric for the top of the straps.  It has shimmery silver in it and is very pretty.
The straps in the back are supposed to look like a tie!  Isn't that so great???  Some of the girls tied the straps in a bow too which I really liked.
I added a heart ear and hand stitched it in red thread.  I zig zag stitched the elephant outline on the machine in red.  I used the same buttons for the eye.
I had to add one button on the front bottom of the skirt since there was such a huge area with no button.  Easy peasy.
What a great dress.  You can also choose to make the dress without upcycling, but I will only upcycle I think.  Nothing like having your hem already done and all those buttons/buttonholes!  I just finished testing another great pattern from Cassie for Little Lizard King and can't wait to show you how that turned out!
